KNG appoints Fixed Income expert Fernando Ortega as new Head of Emerging Market Sales

We are delighted to announce that we have appointed EM expert Fernando Ortega as our new Head of Emerging Market Sales.

The hire comes as we continue our strategy of expansion in Emerging Markets across all areas of business.

Fernando Ortega joins us with over 30 years of experience in Emerging Markets in both Public and Private Markets. He previously worked at investment bank VTB Capital for 10 years as Global Head of Fixed Income Sales. Prior to this, he worked at Morgan Stanley as Head of Institutional and Onshore Sales and at Santander CIB as European Head of EM Sales.

 

The appointment of Fernando follows the recent hires of Turkish fixed income expert Cagri Kutman, CIS specialist Igor Nartov and LATAM veteran Christian Laloe, further broadening our expertise in EM. Furthermore, Fernando’s hire follows the appointment of former Barclays Capital Director Halila Mazin to its Credit Trading team and ex-Goldman Sachs analyst Andrew Lee to focus on Distressed credit.

Fernando is bringing a great deal of senior-level experience in fixed income sales as well as a unique universe of connections within the emerging market debt community.

We have ambitious plans to grow our EM business and are looking forward to deploying our expertise to assist our clients in navigating volatile markets.
